New DMX Box info now on-line
We now have a webpage with downloads available for our RS232 to DMX interface boards. They are a great solution for controlling DMX RGB devices from a system like Crestron. More data can be found here. It is sold through bluecog online store.
Server Problems
Due to a recent hardware failure we have had to rebild the site from backups. This means that a few links on the site are broken. We will get the rest of the site and the e-commerce store back online in the next couple of days. The service database aplication will return after a major update to its software in the coming month. Apologies for this but the failure was out of our control. We have now put systems in place to ensure it does not happen again.
New Service Arm
We are pleased to announce the setting up of bluecog.com.au.
bluecog is the official Clay Paky, DTS and OptiKinetic
service agency for the NSW area. Having spent time at both
the Clay Paky factory for technical training and the DTS factory to see
their manufacturing facilities I can say they both have a fantastic
range of products. We also have full access to all the legacy
spares for Clay Paky. You can find more info at www.bluecog.com.au
New Mailing Address
We
now have a new mailing address. 17/37 Rocky
Point Road,
Kogarah, 2217. Please update your records, as any mail sent to the old
address will be returned to sender.
Server Downtime
Due to a recent router failure our website
dropped off the face of the planet for a few days. We have now replaced
the faulty hardware and
are back to full operation. The outage only effected our web site as
email is handled by a seperate link.

Servicemania
Some of you may be wondering whats been happening in the last 6 months. Well no news is defiantly good news. We have been so busy with service and custom manufacturing that we forgot to update the news page.
The recent ENTEC tradeshow gave us a chance to meet up with our friends from the various brands we service. We are also delighted to announce that we are now a fully Authorised Service Agency for Clay Paky in Australia. This fits in nicely with Martin, Coemar, FutureLight. Don't forget that we also service other brands and can provide quotes for any work you may require - from a cleanup to a full strip and rebuild.
Rugby World Cup
bcd was recently commissioned by Namagi Systems - manufacturers of on-screen scoring software - to produce a large number of interface cables. These cables were used to connect their systems to the internal venue wiring used in all the World Cup stadiums. All cable was delivered within the short turn around (one week) including sourcing components, manufacturing custom parts and testing .
Rugby World Cup also meant Gearhouse Broadcast requested some multicore cable. Almost a kilometre!!! Over 400 XLR terminations later, the cable was delivered on time.
New products coming online
We have some great new products that will be introduced onto the website in the next few weeks. Keep an eye on the products page for more details...
Email problems
Due to problems with our domain providers DNS servers, any email addressed to bcd.cx might have been bounced in the last few days. The problem has been corrected. If you sent a message in the last few days, and have not yet heard back, please resend your message.

Happy news
Bill and Meg are delighted to announce the birth of there first child. A daughter, Isobel Mary, was born on 6th June 2003 at 3.45pm. Mum and baby are well. Dad is getting use to functioning with very little sleep.
City (no longer) Live
Well as if Sydney has enough good live venues, now there is the closing of City Live at Fox Studios. A Baz Luhrmann designed nightclub, it never really lived up to its potential due to a draconian license restrictions.
Massive service
On the day of the Sydney gig, we got a phone call at 10am from the Lighting Designer for the Massive Attack '100th window' tour requesting a service call on a Coemar Super Cyc 2.4. With none of these fixtures in the country it meant that there was no option other than to repair the one brought from the UK with the band.
Arriving shortly after 11am, after tracking down a wiring diagram from Italy, we set to work on the fixture. A few hours later they were back in business with the fixture back in the rig and the client very happy .
The Super Cycs are used to
spectacular effect during the show with four used as floor mounted
backlight, with an additional four used as backlight. They are
impressive enough when stationary, but when you see 2400w of CMY colour
changer fang through 360° it is a truly amazing sight.
Entech 2002
We had a really successful ENTEC sharing a stand with our friends from Production Assistant Software.
